Louis XVI Chest of drawers

Chest of drawers in marquetry of the Louis XVI period. The diversity of the geometric patterns and woods remind to a work close to the cabinetmaker Demoulin (XVIII) from Dijon (Town in East of France). The filaments are composed of lemon tree for the bright parts and black oak for the dark parts. This puzzle of woods are composed of satin (orange), mahogany (red) and amaranth (purple). The jambs, in the prolongation of the slender legs are in cherry. The chest of drawers is entirely varnished like in past ( Martin varnish). The ironwork are original.
The gray marble is veined.
